How to make the most of UK Metals Expo and get that vital insight

In our online-based world, exhibitions and conferences offer the best way to meet in person, make productive business relationships and get the best industry intelligence. Over two days, 10-11 September, UK Metals Expo will bring the metals industry together at the NEC in Birmingham.

With over 300 exhibitors and 7,500 attendees from right across the metals supply chain due to attend, how can you best maximise your time and opportunities?

Attending a conference session is a great solution, combining a chance to meet people with gaining the latest industry insights.

As sponsors of the Big Issues sessions in Theatre 1, we are diving into the main topics of the day, starting out with: A View from the Top: Strategic Outlook for UK Steel at 10.30am on the first day of the Expo, with Gareth Stace, Director General of UK Steel, and Kamal Rajput, Tata Steel UK’s Strategic Business Development Lead. At noon there will be a focused discussion on low carbon supply chains talking to major steel users about their expectations around Net Zero, with contributions from Jaguar Land Rover, Sir Robert McAlpine and Sonoco.  Other hot topics being discussed and debated that day include the road to a UK steel strategy, a panel exploring how EAFs can make complex steels, and women in industry.

On the second day, 11 September, a range of notable speakers in the theatre will be taking a deeper dive into key sectors such as automotive and construction and taking on hot topics such as the UK and EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM).

All these sessions are free to attend, and if we don’t see you there, come and meet us in the Tata Steel Sponsored Networking Area..
