Tata Steel’s UK business is committed to reducing its emissions, with the ambition of achieving CO2-neutral steel making by 2045 and achieving at least a 30% reduction in CO2 emissions by 2030 (compared to 2018 levels).

Optemis Carbon Lite is our flexible, declaration-based steel solution which enables customers to achieve their Scope 3 emission reduction targets now.
Our straightforward solution applies to virtually all existing Tata Steel UK products, meaning customers can achieve emission reduction targets whilst maintaining the same product range and quality they rely on.
Optemis Evolve offers lower embodied CO2 and higher recycled content
The steel is processed by Tata Steel in the normal way to meet our customers’ specifications. It’s the same products our customers know but with significantly lower embodied CO2. This step paves the way for Tata Steel UK’s transition to its own EAF steel substrate.
