Building Systems UK, the construction solutions arm of Tata Steel UK, last month launched its range of low emission Optemis® Evolve construction solutions.
Optemis® Evolve is a lower embodied CO2 offering for building products, with up to 45% reduction in embodied carbon when compared with a typical BOS steel baseline solution. Building Systems UK launched the Optemis® Evolve range at a specially arranged open day at their steel making centre in Port Talbot, where UK Developers, Main Contractors, Architects and construction companies witnessed first-hand the progress to deliver a steel technology transition to Electric Arc Furnace steel making.
Optemis Evolve offers:
The Optemis® Evolve offering is available across Building Systems UK’s range – including their Trisomet® & Trimapanel® insulated panel systems, Trisobuild® site assembled systems and RoofDek and ComFlor® structural roofing and decking. Optemis® Evolve also delivers a higher recycled content, contributing to the circular economy and reducing reliance on virgin resources. Its processed in the normal way and manufactured into a broad range of low emission construction products.

In line with Building Systems UK’s comprehensive carbon reporting, the Optemis® Evolve range will be supplied with BES 6001 Responsible Sourcing Certification and an EN 15804 compliant Environmental Product Declarations – which due to the detailed EPD modelling that Building Systems have developed, will report down to product specification level – a unique market offering.
