UK Life Cycle Assessment shortlisted for "Steelie" Awards

Tata Steel UK has again been shortlisted in the 'Excellence in Life Cycle Assessment' category of the 15th World Steel Association (worldsteel) awards 2024, having won the award three times in eight years.

Through the work of the UK’s Sustainability Policy & Assessment team, Tata Steel UK has been shortlisted for World Steel Association’s ‘Excellence in Life Cycle Assessment’ Steelie award.

The company's submission focused on the need for harmonised methods based on LCA, which becomes increasingly important as stakeholders’ interests in product environmental reporting intensifies, in particular related to decarbonisation and the circular economy.

The UK team has sought to engage in and lead the debate with influential stakeholders through a number of key industry and academic platforms, helping to set future rules, standards and guidelines for product carbon footprinting and much more.
