Tata Steel's leading women aim big at national packaging awards

Two of Tata Steel UK’s leading lights have been shortlisted for the inaugural Women in Packaging Excellence Awards

Sarah Passmore, Commercial Manager – Packaging, has been nominated for the Packaging Leadership Award, while Market and Business Development Manager Nicola Jones is up for the Woman of the Year gong in the Retailers and Manufacturers category.  

There were further nominations for Gemma Finn-Lewis (Excellence in Packaging Engineering), Amanda Foley (Packaging Operations Excellence Award), and Victoria Simeonides and Laura Griffiths (Packaging Leadership Award).  

Alongside Tata Steel UK, other prominent brands featured include Waitrose, Nando’s, Aldi, Kingfisher and Ocado.

Event director Simone Broadhurst said: 

“Women need to set benchmarks for others to aspire to – which these awards highlight – and mentoring women is absolutely crucial for this industry to continue to evolve.  

“We look forward to welcoming colleagues and peers up and down the packaging supply chain at the inaugural Women in Packaging Excellence Awards.”

The winners will be announced at a ceremony in London on 10 July.
