Richard Burton road race set to be biggest in its history

The iconic Tata Steel Richard Burton 10k road race and family fun run is set to be one of the biggest races in its 34 year history!

With more than 700 runners expected in the main race and 250 in the family fun run, it will certainly be a busy Sunday in Cwmafan. There will also be some familiar faces amongst the runners with Shaun Holley signing up and Stephen Kinnock MP set to run for his third year.

As always a large proportion of race proceeds will be donated to charitable organisations, with a focus on those groups and clubs in close proximity to Cwmafan and those working with and encouraging children and young people to get active. Last year over £6,000 was donated to various clubs including, Cwmafan and Pontrhydyfen RFC mini sections, the Matthew Mizen foundation, Port Talbot Gateway Club, Cwmafan Scouts and Western Beacons Mountain Rescue.

There will be entertainment following the race at Cwmafan RFC from ‘Pollen Count’ and ‘Jeri and the Beats’ bands with food and drink available to purchase behind the bar.
