Tata Steel UK has been shortlisted in the 'Excellence in Communications' category of the 15th World Steel Association (worldsteel) awards 2024, for its sector-leading "SteelCast" podcast.
The Steelie Awards recognise member companies for their contribution to the steel industry over a one-year period in a series of categories impacting the industry. Winners are announced on Monday 14 October.
Head of PR and host of the SteelCast podcast said: "We are absolutely thrilled to be shortlisted for these prestigious industry awards. We started the podcast as a good way of communicating with employees through the COVID pandemic, then developed it to become a central point of thought-leadership about the decarbonisation of the steel industry. It would be nothing without our guests, of course, who come from across industry, academia and government."
Digital Content & Brand Executive and podcast producer, Gareth Brookes added: "We've learned a huge amount as we have developed the podcast, both in terms of the format, the structure and recording and editing. Our decision to start videoing the podcasts and promoting them through YouTube and other social media channels has also helped to extend its reach. One source has SteelCast as the number 1 podcast about steel, globally!"
