Produced online during the profile forming operation, closed ends are an optional alternative to the standard open ends of the ComFlor® profile. The closed ends help to provide excellent acoustic performance, and our Technical team can provide project specific acoustic calculations for the floor slab to help ensure you achieve the acoustic performance you require.

The ComFlor® closed ends also eliminate any requirement for profile filler blocks to be used, saving time and reducing costs. Furthermore ComFlor® with closed ends offers quicker and simplified installation on-site when pre-studded beams are used, as alignment of troughs and studs is not a requirement due to sufficient concrete volume around the shear studs, regardless of position in relation to the profile. Where you have a requirement for holes in the slab, then our Technical team can provide project specific calculations that can determine the suitability of the hole size that you require for your given slab depth and span with your chosen ComFlor® profile. For very large holes trimming steelwork may be required, where again ComFlor® with closed ends would provide a neater finish around this opening. There are also cost savings on labour and materials due to no requirement for end caps to be installed on site.
