With the UK needing to find new, more efficient solutions to create the schools and hospitals it badly needs, ‘Industrialised Construction’ is increasingly regarded as a key enabler for delivering scalable, pre-manufactured solutions to site. Correctly configured, ‘Industrialised Construction’ will reduce ‘on site’ works, reduce waste and reduce programme time – ultimately delivering more economic outcomes.
For the past 3 years Building Systems UK, a Tata Steel enterprise, has been engaged in a number of projects looking at how ‘Designed for Manufacture and Assembly’ (DfMA) solutions can help address some of the skills & material shortages faced in today’s construction market.
One of the outputs of this engagement has been the creation of Trimawall® – a pre-finished internal wall panel, designed to simplify the installation sequence, provide efficient access for the M&E installation and all but eliminate the need for wet trade plastering & painting.
Trimawall® utilises the Trisofix® Universal mounting system. Developed for the construction sector, in partnership with Reform Systems Ltd, Trisofix® is a patented, simple to use universal mounting system that unlocks both off-site, and on-site, construction productivity.
Trisofix® comprises a small set of standardised high grade coated steel components and can be used throughout a building. Typically, the Trisofix® panel clip is factory fitted to the prefinished Trimawall® high performance panel, but can also be fitted on site offering hybrid functionality and flexibility for installers.
The Trisofix® mounting system fixes back to any structural wall type and creates a 55mm cavity behind the severe duty rated panels which, when combined with the individual panel demounting and push-fit reinstallation, makes it easy to accommodate any last minute client changes to room configurations and details.
By minimising the time and material waste associated with ‘snagging’ & final finishes of workplace interiors, Trisofix® can be an important component in efficient, adaptive and circular construction solutions that drive economic outcomes.
